Silent treatment for not drinking

My partner is nearly 4 1/2 months sober the longest he's ever gone was 2 months. He is a binge drinker when he drinks just the 'one bottle of wine' turns to a 4 upto 7 day binge. The longest binge he went on was Dec 2025 which was a 9 day binge which resulted with him in hospital.
He keeps saying he was stupid back then and has realised he has a problem and he's not going to do that again and he used every excuse to drink and he knows what he nearly lost etc and he just wants one bottle of wine and this time he will 'prove' it to me that it can just be the one bottle.
Ive told him he can't just have the 1 bottle as he's tried so many times to have the 1 bottle which has resulted him even walking 3 miles to go get more wine in the early hours. He has said he's not going to mess it up this time and let me prove it to him which results in us both not being happy. When he does want a drink he says everything is fine whilst giving me the silent treatment like I've done something wrong. He barely says 2 words to me, I'd rather him drink and go away then be ignored and not acknowledged at least I know where I stand

So sorry to hear that you are going through this. Has AA helped him in the past? Until he realises that he will never be "in control" of his drinking and is willing to go and get help and support you cannot reason with him. Make sure you get support for yourself too. Living with an alcoholic in denial is distressing and exhausting.
