I don’t know if anyone can help me. My son is 34 and alcoholic. Goes cold turkey for four days went to work came back drank, went to work came home drank. Now it’s the weekend he’s telling me he needs drink. I gave him drink now he wants more and more to get him to Monday to be able to work. It’s constant. I’ve heard him come in my room and walk out as I’m pretending I’m asleep. I don’t know how much I can take. I suffer with Fibromyalgia and I hurt so much today. But scared to open my eyes or he’ll come in and ask for a drink. I know he has got awful problems with his ex who is a bipolar psychopath. She’s put out the worst accusations on him cause he broke up with her. She used to hit him and throw things at him. We know this as they used to live with my 94 year old father and his carer and they heard her. Dr’s don’t want to know I don’t know what to do.

I feel your pain, Bernie. My son, over the last couple of months has gotten so bad with alcohol as he's lost everything he just keeps drinking round the clock. Yesterday he got into 4 different fights and even pulled a fist at me as I mentioned the police. He's still drunk this morning as he's sending me voice notes. He's constantly drunk and constantly walks around or should I say stoats around with a bottle of beer in his hand. I so scared he is going to kill himself but all he say is he wants to die. I live in a constant state of fear and have had to take sick leave from work. He's a horrible, vile human being at the moment.

Demi, that the thing he’s not aggressive towards me at all. He drinks to sleep and knock himself out but this Ex has just caused so much trouble for him. Truthfully if I thought my son did the things she said he did I would 100% be on her side. She’s file 100% has bipolar, every past relationship she’s had she’s be either had a police injunction on her. About two weeks after going out with my son she came in and told me she’d hit him! The first thing I said was has he hit you? She said no this is what I do I can’t help it it’s the meds. I said just cause your a women doesn’t give you the right to hit a man.
Last night was awful he drank and was so out of it and I stay up to make sure he’s not sick 🤢 as I do t want to wake up to my son dead

This is just awful for you I completely sympathise, my alcoholic son has mental health issues sadly they compound each other does not live near me thankfully. He is just vile when drunk and I am out this time . He has 2 attempted suicides . Last one only 3 weeks ago. lost many jobs because of alcohol. We rushed to his aid bought food cleaned his flat listened to his promises of giving up alcohol and 24hours after us arriving home he is drunk again .
He is a mess has been drunk now for last 10 days . He is a solicitor got a new job and will work from home but they will see after a few weeks he will be drinking at home when working and get sacked!!! it is like a revolving door I cannot continue to bail him out . He is Destroying my life and my husbands . We have both blocked him of all devices just today as started to insult me because I said he was drunk and he was .!!! 💕 thinking of you 💕

Sorry to hear your story but it mirrors my own . Alcoholic 40 year old son with mental health issues who thankfully does not live with me and my husband. We have done everything for him . He has no friends and has lost last 4 jobs because of alcohol . I am at my wits end. He was an amazing solicitor but has completely lost his way . 2nd attempted suicide 3 weeks ago so
We went to his rented flat was a complete mess , we cleaned it took 2 days while he lay in bed . No food anywhere so I did a full shop and had made him 10 meals for his freezer . We left him I thought in a good place . He promised to go to AA been once! despite all his promises , he promised to go to a male mental health team and to stop drinking. He has just missed two doctors appointments for help with stopping drinking.We have been back home 10 days and has been drunk everyday . Asked us for money £4k we said no as he has not shown us he can be trusted and lies all the time . This is not the first time so I am going to stand firm this time . Breaks my heart but enough is enough. Sending you love and strength too💕

Thank you for your lovely supportive message. How do I get Male mental health team involved. He’s not tried to commit suicide yet but we know it’s coming. They fool you and play on your heart strings more so on the mothers. My son does it all the time he’s gone 13hrs without drink. Shaking and being sick. Asked me for a drink told him to speak to his Dad. So scared him having a seizure x

Hi again his doctor will get the mental health team involved . My sons did but after a few visits he told them he was fine so they left him to get on with it and this was after 2nd suicide attempt . Just gets worse. He has missed 2 doctors appointments now this week to ask for help with withdrawal. He like your son stopped for one day and fell hitting his arm and leg ..he said it was seizure but i don’t think it was. I am so angry he told my husband he was going to 2 doctors for help both times but did not . He is destroying my life and has for 15 years now. Came from from university with a drink and smoking cigarettes habit!!

I find the Dr’s are absolutely useless they just don’t care.
