Feeling lonely

Somebody supporting another with alcohol addiction
My husband has been on a binge for 11 days I won't mention how much he drank in lager and vodka but it started with him having one 2 weeks ago today - the day before our holiday and ended up with us coming home earlier from holiday and still continuing drink - there was a 6 week gap between this binge and the previous one - when it happens I take our son and the dogs and book into a place for a few night as where he always use to be drink and sleep he now started to develop a different side if I refuse him shop and alcohol. I love him but I can't stand alcohol and couldn't even cope whilst me and my son were away seeing ppl bring beer or wine into hotel. I just want him to get help but he lives in such denial and it scares me. He stopped for the 3 days we were away and today decided he needs a drink again as he has had a tough day. I dont even know what I am asking for here but at the minute I am just wanting to cry and scream and everything that will probably not even help but I am just so lost

I am sorry - addiction makes it such a lonely place for those trying to support their loved one.  Whilst Im supporting my adult son with recovery from drug addiction so don’t have experience of supporting a husband/partner, i do know you are doing the right thing when you get away with your son - you have your protect your own wellbeing and your sons.

I hope things improve for you x

I am so very sorry you are having to endure this behaviour. I had an alcoholic husband when I was very young ( early 20’s). My life revolved around his drinking, empty  promises followed by his binges for days and holidays ruined.I know the  loneliness , anger and betrayal you feel. After I had my son I realised his abusive outbursts when drunk would never stop . I would never change him no matter how much I loved him I gave him a beautiful son but not even that stopped him drinking. After 8 years I divorced him and got my life and many years later my self worth back too. It still haunts me my wasted 20’s which should have been the best years of your life !! . Please look after yourself and your son you both  deserve a better life . Sending love and support 💕
