How do you deal with the illnesses alcohol causes

Hi everyone,
My son is 38, he lives at home with me and he is an alcoholic.
His illness has taken a turn for the worse, (when I thought it couldn't get any worse )
He is now seriously ill, he's lost over 3 stone in weight, is unable to keep food down when he does manage to eat, he has an emergency ct scan, endoscopy and colonoscopy this weekend this was after having blood tests where they found he was extremely anemic, he then had to do a stool test which they've found blood in.
Sadly he' still drinking, has anyone else dealt with this ?

Im so sorry to hear this its one of my biggest fears for my son who is a similar age. How can you help someone who wont help themselves its terrifying to watch the illness progress and see the effects on not only my son but his own family and extended family.

My mum had all sorts of health issues like this when she was drinking. It’s awful to watch and really frightening when you’re a helpless observer. 😢
He’ll struggle to keep food down when he’s drinking as much as you say in your bio. We had some success with small bits of bread, salty crackers, plain chickeh - anything plain and boring in small amounts really. It’s not much, but it can help.
If he does eventually decide to stop drinking it’s amazing how quickly these problems can reverse themselves. Fingers crossed for you all 🤞
