I'm tired

Somebody supporting another with alcohol addiction
I'm 44. Mum been drinking since I was 8. I have my own life now and a beautiful family. Each day is different with mum. Sometimes there are days when she is sober and living and I love being around her. The other days I sense something is wrong, no reply to messages etc. When she doesn't reply to messages my anxiety rockets and I can't focus. I'm short tempered with family and I feel it takes over. IV tried the " you can't change anything" mantra in my head but it really affects my whole being. I cNt stand being around her when I even suspect and can feel tightness in chest and stress throughout my body. I have tried anti depressants (don't want to go back in those), talking therapy, etc. I just want a normal life.x

Oh… . how every word you said is how I feel about my son I get overwhelmed with anxiety when I can’t reach him . I am anxious every waking moment wondering if he is drunk or sober ( he does not live with me ) I live in a state of anxiety my whole life is consumed by his moods !!! If not good then I get a torrent of abuse.
I also had spent thousands of £s on counselling sessions , but I feel unless they
have walked in our shoes their sympathy
does not mean much. I like you get really short tempered with my lovely husband who has not caused he any worry it all comes from my son . My thoughts are with you sending you love and strength. I just think I must have been very bad in a previous life to warrant this abuse . 🥰

If you want to connect directly just request me . I have had a brother and sister in law both alcoholics both now passed. I also have another brother who was an alcoholic but found God and it saved his life . He has not had a drink for many years . My sympathy goes to you 💕

I agree. What is happenning with my daughter is how I'm feeling. If she's sober Im Ok otherwise my whole day is ruined and my anxiety is high. She seems to have no idea of how her behaviour affects me. She always plays the victim. Sending big hug x

Alcohol is a curse in my family   My brother and sister in law dies in their 50s leaving my niece and nephew both have terrible memories.Another brother was alcohol but found God and was cured . And my first husband ( my sons father ) was also an alcoholic it must be in inherited.
The destruction it has caused in my family is unreal.
They don’t think about us it all about them and the next drink !!
It breaks my heart and I guess yours too . Sending love and support 💕
