I am tired....

Somebody supporting another with cocaine addiction
I am tired of the constant lies...
I am tired to give second chances....
I am tired to find out that my husband is not doing what he promised to me....
I love him, but I am getting to the point that I don't want this for me anymore....
I am dealing with all this on my own.... and he simply doesn't care....
My last warning to him was restraining order.... and I know nothing his going to change.... I didn't want my marriage to end.... But I don't see another way out....

I think the lies go with the territory. It’s draining. Mentally exhausting. I’m
Not. Sure an addict can actually promise anything. It’s nearly always lip service until they’re truly ready.

I’m learning that they do care but have no control.  Unlike a non addict, they’re unable to conform to normal life. The addiction controls them.

Only you can make the decision for yourself. We all have our breaking point and you don’t have to justify that to yourself or anyone else.

Look after you x

Sorry you’re going through this.

I don’t think someone suffering from addiction is capable of keeping promises consistently, but they definitely are capable of change. It’ll just happen when something deep inside them switches and they want to stop more than they want to continue living with the consequences of their behaviour.

It took my parent’s separation, losing the family home, losing several friends, and a drink driving conviction for my mum to eventually get to that point. But she did and she’s now been sober for over a decade.

This isn’t really advice, but I just wanted to say that sometimes those “I can’t believe it’s come to this” moments are exactly the moments that need to happen for a positive change to begin. I hope it happens for you and your husband soon! 💙
