Kel, we are so sorry to hear what you are going through - such a difficult situation to be in.  We know there are others on this app that have/are going through similar with their loved ones - including specifically with ketamine. We hope they will reach out to connect with you.

If your daughter is in pain then we would suggest seeking medical advice. Ketamine is a powerful anaesthetic that can lead to overdose and you can experience withdrawal symptoms.  The online chat and phone lines to FRANK are open right now - but for detailed information and advice it is best to call them on 0300 123 6600. They are open 24/7.

We’re so sorry you’re going through this. Please remember, we’re just a peer support community not medical experts - so please do reach out to the experts.  But hopefully others on the app will be able to provide comfort and speak from their own experiences.

Very sorry to you’re going through this, Kel.

As the comment above says, it sounds like your daughter is in need of medical help in the short term for her own safety.

I also have a daughter who is 25 and has become very ill through ketamine use.  Pain relief is a massive part of it, and I've tried to argue this with GP's and hospitals for a long time.

I have some links that will help to explain and may help you if/when you speak to a Dr.

My son has just been through rehab after a very quick escalation on ketamine and has had one lapse already. It was very scary to watch his decline and the increase in his dosage was so quick, it's horrible to watch their lives imploding. You really need the experts to take her through the withdrawal which he did in rehabilitation. He took the most massive dose the night before rehab which is not uncommon. He has come out much stronger despite the lapse and is back to attending NA meetings which are amazing to help him cope with cravings. What I would emphasize is that you cannot do it without professional help ASAP and rehab is the best way and will give you a break. The relief of having someone else in charge is massive but she has to want it or it will be a waste of time and money. Reach out anytime...it's awful

Please ask your daughters drug support worker for some Naloxone kits, you will have them there in case of overdose.
Also drug testing kits, lots of ketamine has traces of fentanyl.
Ketamine is a terrible drugs that grips the person very easily, destroying them from the inside out 😢

Hi Kel, im new to group, see your post was written 2 months ago. How is yr daughter? I was in the same position with my son. Ketamine is destroying so many families. I knew nothing about Ketamine until I found it in my sons bedroom. It turned him into a zombie. His drug use got so bad he was in A&E 4 times with severe stomach cramps and everytime the hospital did nothing for him. Just told him to stop using and the cramps would go away. He had a great job and lost it as he never went in. I believe the pain got too much for him so he stopped using. But hes just replaced 1 drug for another and refuses to admit he has a problem.  Hes 24, lives at home, has no friends or GF and just sits in his room. He has no car now as he crashed it while driving drunk. Im at the end of my tether with him. He was such a loving funny son now hes in such a state its breaking my heart. I truly hope yr daughter gets the help she needs. Xx
