My daughter has come bac
k home after being in a long term. Almost 2 years relationship, which she discribes as emotionally abusive. We lost her 24 year old brother my son to a cocaine overdose in 2024 which has had a devastating effect on our family has a whole but she has struggled since. Yesterday she told me and
my partner she has a heavy weed addiction. I am terrified what will become of her. Please if anyone can give me any advice how to help her we contacted the gp who has, prescribed anti depressants but we know they need time to work. I distraught i cant lose another child to drugs

So sorry you are going through this. I suggest you reach out to organizations like Al Anon which helped me so much. You cannot cure or control your daughters addiction but you can help yourself to get strong and learn how to detach to allow her to be on her own path and find her own strength but you are helpless I'm afraid 😟 Look after yourself

I’m so sorry for what you are going through.
I’m struggling with my son on ketamine and Clonazapam.
Having lost one already must make things so much more hard for you all.
My son has been prescribed antidepressants and was on a low dose . But thanks to me calling a rehab clinic in London I was given advice from a professor who said he needs a higher dosage. So we are trying this.
My son also said a pet would help so I searched for an indoor, lap cat. I found one and indeed it is wonderful. We arnt there yet but he is smiling and finding some joy in the cat.
I’ve also hounded the mental health team and after telling them ( you have a duty of care ) I have ruffled their feathers.
I hope you find some glimmers of hope in a psychiatrist, mental health team or someone there .

Thank you for reaching out. She is slowly getting there with very baby steps. Its the mood swings that are so difficult to handle and all the emotional abuse that she spills out when shes not got weed. Its so heartbreaking

Keep strong .
It is indeed hard the amount of times I’ve been told to F off but I tell him off and remind him I’m trying to help him .
Keep pushing others to help if she is ready to accept it .
