Somebody supporting another with cannabis addiction
Living at home. Spends all his universal credit on cannabis and then is in debt again to dealer before he gets his next money.
House rule is don't bring it to the house and don't smoke it in the house. He keeps smoking it in the night and leaving window wide open and fan on go try to hide smell.
This morning he had lots of nuggets of it all over his TV table. I put in in a freezer bag and chucked it outside.
He has mental health issues. Just been dumped by girlfriend and can't handle it. Had a couple of scenes in the street with his friends where he had some vodka and was wailing and breaking down. I'm torn between the mental health side +ADHD and the cannabis damage and the blatant disrespect

So sorry you are dealing with this. Mental health issues plus ADHD and all the challenges that bring with emotional regulation is hard for you all. It’s so difficult when your child is behaving disrespectfully but is also vulnerable it makes enforcing boundaries a nightmare situation to be in. Don’t think people can understand the turmoil unless you’ve been in that position. Getting support for myself has helped a lot. I accessed a family support worker locally and I’m currently doing a course with the Froward Trust to understand addiction. Have you got support? X
