Somebody supporting another with ketamine addiction
My son after bing taken into hospital against his will ( lack of capacity) in December is now on a weaning off program for benzos . He’s ok but struggles each time it’s reduced . Threating to end his life and so on . I feed him twice a day and generally try to keep him going .
He has got better but today I feel it’s got worse again . He’s still had a dip every time the dose is dropped but today is bad.
He’s still on the Ketamine and taking pain killers to stop the pain caused by the Ket.
I’m struggling with trying to remove my thoughts for very long . I’m in a constant state of thinking I’ll have to run over to his and call an ambulance . I’ve tried talking therapy but it’s not for me.

Sorry that you are both going through this. I did a course with https://forwardtrust.org.uk/. It was on line with others supporting loved ones. Nothing takes the pain away when our child is an addict but it helped with strategies and sharing with others in the same situation xxx

I know how you feel. Looking after yourself is hard when we feel low but it’s a positive step to claiming some quality of life back for ourselves despite what we are dealing with. Let me know how you get on xxx
