Somebody supporting another with cocaine addiction
My son has a coke addiction.  The constant lies and stealing resulted in my husband throwing him out. He stayed with his nan for a month then she paid the deposit on a room in shared house.  He never paid the rent so he begged to come home, finally admitting he had an addiction. All good for a month then back to work and he is using again.  I really can’t listen to his promises anymore. Does it get better as I see no good ending

Somebody supporting another with alcohol and cocaine addictions
Hi Xilla, it can get better.  We were where you are but our son is in sustained recovery currently (I say currently as we are not naive - we know this is going to be a lifetime fragility).

The change only came when our son decided he wanted to/needed to change and he was sick with how his life was going (literally had lost everything m). All our previous efforts were ignored - he knew best, he could do what he wanted, he had it ‘under control’, everyone's doing it and we didn't understand!

Sending you strength xx
